The account @DemocratSIC on Twitter exits to correct the supreme injustice of people calling Democrats “Democrats.” Apparently, it's an insult to the Democrats' strong democratic tradition of stacking the deck with superdelegates when it's time to choose the party's presidential nominee.

But the account got me thinking, if “Democrat” is “intended to be a slur,” Republikkkan certainly is a slur. After all, the KKK was the racist, terrorist arm of the ‘Democratic’ Party, and despite the Klan's history, Democrats continued electing one of the Klan's leaders—a man who filibustered the 1964 Civil Rights Act for 14 hours and 13 minutes until he was finally cut off by a cloture vote—to the United States Senate until his death in 2010.

Unlike @DemocratSIC, I don't have the time or inclination to sit on Twitter and reply to people who can't spell Republican. However, I don't mind letting a bot do the work. Thus, I present “The Republikkan Corrector,” @ItsRepublican.

@ItsRepublican dutifully scans Twitter for various common, intentional misspellings of “Republican” and when it finds them, politely replies to the offending user with “It's spelled Republican”. You can view the latest corrections by following @ItsRepublican on Twitter. Use this search to view replies from people who have been corrected.
